Applying Internet For Farang

Featured Replies

What are the requirement to apply internet service for Farang? I am on Social Visit and I travel frequently here so I would like to apply an internet package for my rented house. Thanks

Hi,

There are no special requirements for foreigners, information required is the same as for locals.

If you are not in Thailand full time, you may consider buying an aircard from your local computer center which will give you an edge or 3G internet connection using a wireless USB card. It comes with a SIM card and allows you to choose a package depending on your expected use. You will probably need to show your passport in order to fully register the SIM with AIS, DTAC or True.

If you want a dial-up or ADSL, you can register at any of the IT malls and there are loads of providers. Check out:

www.truecorp.co.th/eng/products/online2.jsp

or you can google 'Thailand internet providers'

You will need to fill out an application form, produce your ID (passport) and will probably be required to show permission from the house owner since you are renting.
