The Windows product key installed on this computer is a Volume License Key (VLK) that has been blocked. A VLK is typically licensed to organizations that want to use multiple copies of Windows. However, if a VLK is reported as stolen or leaked, it is blocked from passing validation and is not considered genuine. You or your organization may be a victim of software counterfeiting if: You received a computer with a VLK, but you do not have a Volume License Agreement with Microsoft, or Your organization purchased a VLK from a 3rd party but does not have a Volume License Agreement with Microsoft. If you do have a Volume License Agreement with Microsoft, you believe you are using the appropriate VLK assigned to your organization, and your VLK has not been reported as stolen or lost, contact your system administrator, Large Account Reseller (LAR), or Enterprise Software Advisor (ESA) to report the problem. --------------------------------- Been using for 18mths. and been previously been asked to validate XP,no trouble. I usually use Firefox, when Windows asks me to validate it tells I need a Firefox Plug-in,OK,tells me to continue the validation process but nothing happens.Went looking and found the above notice. I'm just a computer dummy who walked into I.T.City Chiang Mai,'I'll have that one',it's run without a hiccup. Black wallpapers nice. Any ideas what could have changed please.

May 4, 201016 yr If u buy a computer in Thailand go to "settings" and turn off automatic updates, with the exception of Mac and Sony. They are usually genuine.
May 4, 201016 yr Buy original, genuine Software, at least a Windows XP Key. You can get it directly on the Microsoft Website, enter it and your problems are gone. Using cracks illegal, but I guess you know that. Alt through nobody really care about it in Thailand, at least you know that you not install any unwanted spyware or other nice stuff when using original installation disks instead of cracked fakes.
May 5, 201016 yr If you do pay Microsoft for a new Key don't let enyone else have access to it. If you let anyone in a shop know it they will use it with other counterfeit copies. You will then have the same problem ahain. As someone else mentioned earlier, turn off automatic updates. If you want to update go to Microsoft's site and choose which updates to download and install.
