Chiang Mai’s Annual Inthakin

Date: 10 May 2010 - 17 May 2010

Location: Chedi Luang Temple

053 259 166, 053 814 119

Chiang Mai's annual Inthakin ceremony is being held at Wat Chedi Luang. This temple is home to the 'Pillar of the City'; a totem used in ancient Thai fertility rites. This traditional Buddhist ceremony honours the image of Phra Chao Fon Saen Ha, which is believed to possess the power to induce rain and produce fertile agricultural grounds. The ceremony will be followed by a fair at the temple.
