Confusion On Spelling 'hi-so' And 'lo-so'

Featured Replies

I've been going happily through life spelling hi-so as ไฮโซ.

Then yesterday my gf spelled out ฮิโซ, insisting it means 'hi-so'. And that lo-so is ลิโซ.

Is this a slang way of spelling it?

both came from English

and I never heard any one spell it ฮิโซ

so it's ไฮโซ

(lo so ..... "O" is sure can't be turn in to "I")

If you google it, you'll see a large number of people spell it as ฮิโซ. :)

ไฮโซ is the more common spelling, according to google, but not the only one.

I'm just not sure why they have a secondary spelling . . .

asking my friend , see this spelling a lot in hi5 and facebook

she said : It's cute

a teenage slang

Only thing I can think of is the thai lazy speak coming in, although i've never heard it pronounced 'he-soh' or spelt that way.

Lazy speak as in "ได้ยินไหม ---> changes for speaking easily into---> ดิยินไหม"

It is basically a mockery of English spelling system. Not acceptable with normal usage.

The same apply the Hi5. People sometime call it ฮิไฟว์ just for fun.

the thai spelling of english wods always throws me. I look at the words and instantly thing <deleted> does that mean, that's no ordinary structure then I say it with stress on the syllables.
