Three More Dead In Fresh Bangkok Violence

I saw this on the updates,

THE NAION: Army: the 7-step is still on. "light -harsh" measures being taken because "most' of protesters R Thais.

Aren't "all" the protesters Thai?

No, there are some idiot, self-declared "Save Thailand" farangs out there, advising the reds on democracy and how to fight. Now they can play hero and mercenary and later boast their stories to some girls in a Sukhumvit bar... hilarious :)

It would be good if CRES set-up some kind of checkpoint or processing center where "red shirts" can surrender themselves and peacefully leave the area. Whether or not they are criminally charged for one thing or another might be a different story for the justice system to sort out. In my humble opinion, if they choose to leave the area they should be offered some kind of leniency.

Perhaps the army should broadcast some kind of counter-propaganda? Letting the people inside the red zone know that there is a way out of this. Allow them to disarm themselves (rocks, sticks, incendiary devices, whatever might be perceived as a weapon), then simply walk out of the zone to a place where they can be processed and sent back home (or wherever it is they deserve to go).

Somehow this current stranglehold strategy is only hardening the resolve of the mob. A way out for them might help diffuse things.

There are plenty of places for the reds to get out of there, without even surrendering to the army.

The women and children could walk out of their in 5 minutes past MBK or the other direction down Suhkumvit.

hmmmm... is that supposed to rouse a listing of all my sources?

wait to see, then pm me your apology.

Bowig,

here's the thing. he could be dead or still barely alive. If he is still alive he is very likely to be dead very soon.

I just noticed how you accused army of committing a conspiracy to cover up his death yet you provided no source at all. Is he even dead? You "just know".

Should I PM an apology after he dies (quite likely so) :) ?

If the Reds want political reform they should go through the correct channels.

Please remove these red shirts so people can get back to their normal lives.

"By any means necessary"

Have you heard the story about the black man sitting under the mango tree? Apparently not.

Just tell me, all of you blood thirsty western people; What would happen in your streets if your government removed all social benefits in your country. We all know. Greek would be a kindergarten in comparison. :D

oh Yes, :):D THERE WOULD BE BLOOD

I guess you had some trouble making something up.

Your red mates are not blood thirsty?

You have chucked enough blood around to get the prize.

Do you think they would bring out grenades and molotov cocktails?

And which government has removed any social benefits? The current government has started a old age pension, has made education free to 15 or 18 years old, and has made the health care free and actually funded the health system to provide for the people going to the hospitals (Thaksin had 30-baht health-care, which cost more to administer than 30-baht, and didn't fund the health system to cater for the extra people going there).

Photos of people lying on the ground may be dead, may be not - who has done it ?

Considering the reds constant lying, their constant propaganda and false information as well as their total rejection of facts, I would not put it past them to make up those pictures for propaganda purposes

This does not work though because it is done (as most of what they do) in an amateurish way, no evidence, no troops in sight, no signs of prior fighting.Nice try chaps, but back to the drawing board for some more foolish attempts

There seem to be a lot of peoplel in this forum who are anti-red shirts.I wonder how many of those ppl have business interests in

Bangkok that are suffering because of the demonstrations.Hmmmm....

I say Abhisit should resign immediately and a new election called.

Bangkok people want the reds out.

The reds are bad for business.

But then the only business the reds are fighting for is Thaksin's

<<"The current situation is almost full civil war," said Jatuporn Prompan>> the first report says.

Typical idiotic hyperbole. It's a confined conflict in central Bangkok.

Since when was Ubonrathathani, Khon Kean, chiang mai and Isaan in Central bangkok? If confined to Bangkok, why have 15 provinces under miltary rule?

Or you not read that because it upset you that red shirts have many supports

i'm sure there will be a lot of 'armchair general' farangs happy that the army are just shooting unarmed people!

Have a look at this picture. Can anybody see a just reason for killing this person??

I guess she was amongst a number throwing rocks, and got hit by a stray bullet. We're just left with the shocking picture we don't know, could have been a gun battle raging! I see your point, but you don't know what happened and shouldn't write such things.

Agreed...the events that lead to this and the actions of the deceased are unknown. However.....spot on about "armchair general keyboard warrior farangs"........but thats forums for you. I blame it on rap music / death metal and computer games.

Natthawut demands govt to cease fire immediately

Natthawut Saikua, a red-shirt leader, Saturday demanded that the government must immediately order troops to stop firing at the people and must immediately pull out troops.

Telling at a press conference at 1 pm, Natthawut said clashes happened because the government deployed troops to block red-shirt people from joining the protest at Rajprasong.

He said the blockade infuriated the protesters so the red-shirt leaders could not control them.

The clashes caused at least 17 people to be killed, Natthawut said.

Are you a complete f***ing idiot Natthuwat?! Do you expect the govt to allow more red-shirt thugs and terrorists to simply stroll in and reinforce your 'protest'. Of course they're going to block you and as usual, you get 'infuriated' and provoke another battle with the security forces. Don't expect the troops to pull back now YOU have started this. You want it over, YOU say the word and hand yourselves in with Arisman, Kwanchai and the other shameless scum leaders

As usual a load of armchair farang generals spouting crap over their gin and tonics . Yes send in the tanks why dont you and kill the poor people that you are poncing off over there .

The poor people are the employees of the businesses being wrecked by the red rioters.

Your spouting probably comes from a beanbag.

I just witnessed an armed masked man fire an assault rifle at soldiers from sapahn childom at the red's barricade on chid lom.

No doubt about it. It was not firecrackers or rockets, it was an army style riffle.

He hid behind the tires and fired down the street and then sped away on a motorbike with a friend. Both my wife and i witnessed.

The reds are definitely armed.

So what are 'correct channels'??? Elections? Do they work? No. Should they work? Yes. I surely am not for the way the REDS are going about it. Not at ALL (before someone causes me a terrorist again). But until the Bangkok Elite realize that there is a dire poor part that encompasses most of their country nothing will change.

If the Reds want political reform they should go through the correct channels.

Please remove these red shirts so people can get back to their normal lives.

well said and by the way, I don't think there is anyone here who would not rather see no red's in Bangkok and the country in peace with the first decent government working on improving peoples life. Oh, forgot this is besides the red supporters here.

But no, Thaksin wants none of that, he wants back and become president for life and the people who would have actually benefited the most from the governments reforms are busy destroying the countries economy to make sure that hubndreds of thousands of Isanies that work in the tourist industry are going to be out of a job and in the process, they are going to learn what real poverty means pretty soon.

All those Isanies who are not part of this red mob can thank them for your suffering in the future, you can not blame the government for it.

Some other pix of the same...

Another angel of another pix..

So a pix tells only so much.... A moment in time.. Thats all..

Lets hope for and end... Sooner the better..

takes about 10 minutes to set up these pictures -

Even if they are real, may be they were residents making the mistake of confronting the reds and telling them to fuc_k off - by themselves they are no proof what so ever

are we to presume that these individuals were just shot by the authorities for being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

You could.........if you really like jumping to totally ill-informed conclusions

Then that does seem to be a pretty common pasttime around here!

I hear you... "deserting the cause" and simply spilling back into the general populace would thin their ranks and get them out of harm's way. Not that they wouldn't simply come back. I hope that the women and children do take advantage of that 5-minute walk to safety. Perhaps I am too naive, but do pray that there will be no more bloodshed.

Where are the pics from, and where are the army in relation?

IMO, they are protestors, being all guys and a barricade (lame, but still one) in one photo.

Anyone else see something odd here? Did they send out four people to lie down next to a person who was shot? Or is the entire thing staged?

The ex General who had his brains scrambled stole enough from his barracks for the reds to be very well armed - what do you think all the M79 grenades are originating from ?

It seems the Armed Forces (or someone) are serious. Every death that has been reported the last couple of days has died from a shot to their head, execution style...

Was that reported somewhere, or was it an assumption from a photo that you saw?

As I said, red shirt propaganda attempt - first they took a pic of one guy and a couple of bottles of ketchup - didn't look exiting enough so the rest of the crew lay down to make it have more impact - one could laugh if it wasn't so bloody stupid and sad - what a deranged bunch of wanke_rs

What wrecks people's lives in Isan is not bad govt in BKK or anti-Isan policies by the same. It's a lack of proper and just implementation of policies. The responsible people for this implementation are the corrupt local "Nais" and "Thans" (polite for Mister and Sir) out there in Isan and the North. Most of them are from the provinces themselves and they just exploit their own people and then blame it on Bangkok. In the meanwhile they drive fancy new SUVs, live in 400 sqm houses surrounded by 20 rai of beautiful orchards and make villagers believe that the world is unjust. Same goes for most of the police boys out there in the provinces. I have always wondered (actually I know it...), how a policeman on 9,000 Baht a month can afford a brandnew 1,5m Baht SUV.

No doubt that many red protesters are genuine with their demands and have a point. Their leaders, though, are crooks.

Like in any democratic society, they should wait until the

current ruling party calls for an election, then use their brains

to select a candidate they like and vote for her/him

If they were to stop selling ther votes and choose a candidate

that wold help them in the long run instead of just thinking

about who pays them now, they would be better off in the long run

By the way, what is wrong with a country having poor people, middle

class people and then rich people. This is the way most countries are.

It is not something that will ever change, not here, not anywhere

u muppet, it's not really a democratic society when the party that most of the country votes for gets ousted by a military coup and then again by a yellow shirted mob. Voting has got them nowhere, the minority yellow elite will always supress them until them until the REAL culprits for keeping Thailand in the dark ages for the last 60 years are brought to justice.

You should check your history. There was no elected goverment at the time of the coup (2006), and the most votes is not necessarily a majority (2007), which is what you need to be in government. The reason the PTP (ex-PPP) are not in government is because they couldn't hold their coalition together.
