It's such a shame that so many posters on Thai Visa call for bloodshed.

It's very strange that these people calling for bloodshed are not banned.

I wonder why ?

I think we all know the reasons for that,, may have something to do with biased reporting, censorship, and who owns the website.

is it i wonder that they don't know what it is like to live under a dictatorship and democracy is for the rich only or may be they are communists. the reds are the people there are a lot more than the yellow belly's who took power by taking it not winning it. and the reds they have nothing more to lose this will be a big problem for the government who are traitors to there own people apaist should stand down he has lost it .

this is killing the king as he loves his people in the north as well as the rest of Thailand. stop the killing now. all yellows should be ashamed of them selfs, you have all gone mad with power. when will it end.

stop the bloody war now!!!!! before its to late.

Dictatorship? What planet are you on. The last two times Thaksin surrogates were in power they were thrown out for vote buying and then Samak for moonlighting as a TV cooking show host. The Dems formed a coalition, which is the way it works in a parliamentary democracy.

Who are the traitors? The ones taking an entire city hostage or a government that has done more than any other in recent memory to reach out and help the poor communities. The majority of the economic stimulus funds went to the poor rural communities. He's also been pouring funds into improving the schools in the provinces.

Also if life improved so much under Thaksin, Somchai and Samak, why are all the people in Isaan still as poor as they were 20 years ago?

No Thais are repressed, they're not discriminated against, they're not oppressed and their not jailed indiscriminately.

If the Peua Thai party can get its act together and not buy votes in the next election, then it will be the Red Shirts' turn to run the country. Abhisit has helped this country along through the worst economic period in the history of the world since the great depression. let's see the red shirts leader de jour, the thuggish Yonchaiyudh, who pulls strings so his murderous son can walk free, run the country. Let's see how that guy bastardizes and corrupts.

Well said Snaggletooth. I am in Isaan (Khon Kaen) at the moment and I have yet too see more than 10 Red Shirts in one gathering.

I sympathise for the poor people here but unfortunately the Red Shirt leaders are trying to effect change the wrong (illegal) way. They have a hidden agenda which will only benefit them at the expense of the poor and disadvantaged.

The Red Shirt leaders claim they are fighting for democracy. I very much doubt the veracity of this statment as in a true democracy you can attend a protest rally and then leave when you want to. My wife had a phone call from her Aunty in BKK last night who advised that Red Shirts who wanted to leave the encampment were told by the leaders that they would shoot them if they tried to leave. Demovracy I think not.

I really feel sorry for them as they now face the prospect of being shoot by thier leaders if they leave or shoot by the army if they don't.

"Wenged if they do and wenged if they don't".

By the way Khun SweenyThailand where is Dr Weng who is a self confessed communist? Oh he must be with the rich people now. Try to get your facts right next time.

IMHO the Government has shown too much restraint. It irks the hel_l out of me to see soldiers having their equipment taken by a mob and then beaten after not fighting. At this point I believe the Army/police must crackdown, using lethal force only to protect themselves and their critical equipment such as weapons, but the Red Shirts must be dispersed with Law and order restored, this is a responsibility of a Government to it's people.

Finally sillyman, I spent 26 yrs in the Airborne Infantry and getting drunk on the weekend was not my number 1 priority, Yes I did enjoy getting pissed now and then, but my top priorities were training, going to school and keeping my ass in one piece (Grenanda, Panama and Iraq).

Again, just my opinion

Another one,, just do what the government tells you,, go to Granada, Panama and Iraq,,, steal their land resourses and freedom,,,,,,,,,sad

Weird. I don't agree with war, but this man did serve his country. I haven't, have you? Do we know what it takes? Doubt it. I play rugby, which is acknowledged as one of the most dangerous sports on earth (don't believe me, check the wording in your travel insurance documentation) and I am not afraid to admit that no matter how strong you are, how drilled and confident you are that your balls shrink, just that little bit, when somebody takes a nasty injury during a game. I can only just start to imagine how it must be in a war zone.

My point....have some respect. So what that he didn't question the decisions of his leaders, he thought he was doing the right thing and he did it with his heart. Have you? I don't agree with the Red Shirts, but last night I thought about these people, scared, fighting for something they believe in....right or wrong. Go on, have a go, take 15 minutes in a quiet spot, close your eyes and picture it.

Sillyman, be real.

The expat community has exposed itself as little more than a rabble on this site.

please explain. people expressing opinions on an open forum constitutes a rabble?

one would think peacefully expressing oneself would be an important part of practicing democracy.

a rabble is a disorderly mob. and we all know what disorderly mobs are known for, do we not?

Head over to the park near the bus station and Grand Fisc on Prachasamosorn in KKC. The reds are there in some numbers every night. The yellows tried to have a bit of a get together 2 months ago and motorcycles pelted them with stones at the temple in the city gate.

They collect donations of money and articles to be sent to Bangkok every day. The yellows and multicoloureds are too worried to protest in KKC for fear of red retaliation. Not right, but that is the situation.

Is it any wonder that these ignorant red scum fools are poor? They could improve their situation by working and going to school to learn skills that would provide an income, the same as most of us worldwide have had to do. Instead, they choose to spend their time doing this destructive bullshit that is of no help to anyone as they are just looking for freebies and handouts. To add insult to injury, Thailand's schools are delaying the opening of schools that was supposed to occur this week. These red scums are not only lazy and worthless, but they are preventing the decent kids in Thai society from pursuing their own educations. I was elated when I learned of the shooting in the head of scum dung. What outstanding shooting with a direct head shot! Whoever accomplished this excellent work is a silent hero, and this was a victory for Thailand. I would most like to see the fat face and head of Jutaporn, the world's biggest fool, blown apart like a watermelon by an assassin's bullet. Shitowit and his coward family members who have once again fled Thailand to live safely in luxury far away can watch on CNN as his brains are splattered all over his naive red fool followers. This is truly my feelings towards these people. Go PAD!

Whoever did this will look over his coward back all his life. Somebody knows him, and somebody will grass him.. Might take a few years, but thais like to talk and years to come, the old tale will come out... This is one scared man now and I think he wish he could kiss him better.

PAD gone already and not sure you gonna last long. PAD were at silom but not now because army cannot protect them. PAD were at Victory monument, but not now, becuase scared of black people..... whoooooooooooo all those poor farmers in your lovely PAD neighbourhood.

One small point with your rant.... they didn't kill Seh Deang and they ignited bangkok with the assassination attempt.

Hope you talk this BS next time you in Bangkok Taxi. Maybe find place for you on barricade.

Nice knowing you

Dont bother about yellow scum

So has the state of Emergency been declared for all Of Ubon Ratchathani province? or just the city?

ie, I have friends and family in Det Udom which is 40k's out of Ubon, can anyone tell me what the situation is like there?

It's for Ubon province, not just the city. Haven't heard anything bad about Det Udom yet.

The perfect thing to do is to draw a borderline around Issan and make it a separate country. Then all the Issaners can live and breath amidst their tire fires. This would be a perfect solution. I know that the vast majority of Bangkonians and Southern Thais would support this

The trouble with "the vast majority" of Bangkokians is that they think Bangkok is Thailand. The problem for Thailand is that the country is Bangkok-centric. Your proposed "perfect solution" is typical of Bangkok-centric thinking. If the country had adopted more regional development policies in the past, then some of the underlying issues of today's problems would not exist. We are where we are, at least in part, because of Bangkok-centric thinking.

Can not agree more of what you said, as a rural back ground person. I know in fact that these poor brainless guys were pulled by nose with lies. The leaders of the villages told them that MR. T will pay 150K per family if they bring him back. Funny enough many of them believed it and follow the red coward shirt leaders. As said, instead of trying to get educated pull themself of the poverty, they are doing every which ways to get free small money from these monky politician. My country would be much better without these unconcious money oriented politicians.

Couldn't agree more Thaksin towed people out to sea to leave them to die(at least 300 drown over 200 missing but news media thailand always play the figures down when concerning Thailand more than likely triple), then he sent 4500 people into Lao to be killed after other governments have offered them resettlement(about 3000 unaccounted for) OVER 5000 innocent people add to the 2000 from the drug war(some innocent, some guilty). He also aided over 15000 deaths last year in Thailand. Majority unnecessary. Human rights????

Taksin should be extradited if not Thailand should break off relations with those countries for allowing him to exploit the Thai funds he stole from Thailand.

The deaths of all in Bangkok lies on his doorstep, the UN need to get their act together and not throw a wet sponge to sort out Thailand's internal corrupt problems, it means nothing except give time for the reds to rearm and regroup.

It is the right of Abhisit to act for the National Interest and that is for the millions that are sick of this game, get rid of the reds, innocents will die or use snipers, pay real spies, arrest or kill the leaders, once the head is taken off the body will just fall nicely down perhaps with a thud.

Negotiations are not the issue, move ultimatums then you lose all credibility.

If you are going to do something and announce it then carry out your threats for we need you to bring order.

Kids not going to school and for how long? We do not need this in Roi Et or any other province.

Thais are peaceful, loving caring and understanding but the reds have been made into thugs by whom, Takee

Ubon had a Red parade today and lit fires (Tires) in the main high road and near the Air Base.

Sisaket is very close to Ubon, it seems they have at least something under control, guess people are going somewhere else.

Cops check on daily bases cars, trucks on the 226, the way to Surin, also in Uthumphon Phisai, 25 km away.

The only problem now is: IT"S TO QUIET...................

Update Sisaket:

The area around the city hall is closed after 7 pm, difficult to find my way back home, even before 9 pm. Cops controlling traffic to Surin on the 226 every day.

I've just heard from a red that 'events' are planned. Everything is possible.

This shit is everywhere. Thaksin eliminated not only drug dealers. Most of them were innocent.

Anybody could bring a little plastic bag into your house and call the cops at this time.

The irony was that all victims suddenly had a gun in their hand after getting killed.

"Hey Jo, what do you do with the gun in your hand?

Many people such as yourself take the view that human life is sacred, and of much more value than mere property; that every person has human rights which should be respected.

But what happens when a person takes upon himself to deprive other humans of their rights by destroying their workplaces, schools and their social infrastructure? Does he still retain his own rights while depriving others of theirs? Most civilized countries have decided that "NO, they do not!" Their rights are restricted to those contained in the Miranda Act or its equivalent after they have surrendered to authorities. Those that refuse to cease, desist and surrender retain their Miranda rights as well as the right to medical treatment and/or a decent burial.

You may not like that, but THAT IS HOW IT IS.

I can guarantee that there are no government ministers sons fighting against the redshirts.

Neither are Thaksin's sons and daughters out there on the barricades fighting for the poor, since the poor is being used

Thankyou Xenmorph, you are right, thanks for the input.

The poor are always used, always have been, always will be.

Us Westerners have never experienced this shit, unless you are Bosnian or Croatian or Serbian.

I was in the Army, all we done was get drunk as many times as we could.

If you had asked us to open fire on English people, I for one would have disobeyed orders and refused.

I done a few tours in NI, luckily I was never injured, I know some of my friends that were.

The keyboard warriors on ThaiVisa amaze me, they have more knowledge of weapons than I ever did.

We just wanted to get drunk on a weekend pass, <deleted> the weapons !

How come there are so many experts here, what regiment did they serve in ?

I'm actually interested, I joined the junior leaders in Folkestone 37 years ago, how about the ThaiVisa experts ?

What is your military background ?

Did you have the same reticence with the Irish, who were also UK citizens?

My house is near sankhaemphaeng, thaksin's birthplace, east of C.M. when thaksin was in power, the elderley received 500baht a month, the 30 baht health plan, cheap loans ( thats why there's so many taxi's in BKK) the one product, one village project, going strong in my local, can you see where the red's anger comes from, the puppet abhisit removed someof these benifits & turns the army on to his own people.

regards songhklasid

Well Sid, are you aware that the current govt has increased the aged allowance, dropped the B30 charge and increased hospital funding, is helping the rural poor out of their overwhelming debts, and that OTOP has been a failure in most provinces. If you live where you say, you probably wouldn't know because the local media is RED.

None of the benefits have been removed, most have been increased, and pray tell what you would do with armed militia holding the capital for ransom. Perhaps you should open your ears and eyes like an assumed educated person and stop spouting rabble propaganda.

Yes, typical of any area that has a higher rate of poverty--many who are employed seasonally, partially, or not at all. Ever been to Cambodia? Or have you ever ventured outside the elite zones of SE Asia?

I live in Isaan and my wife has been looking for a worker in our village and 6 others around us. Farm work with pigs, fish and birds 200Baht a day 6 days a week, regular work and no one wants it. The young ones just want to play with their fighting chickens and the older ones who do not work in construction or building just want to lay in the shade all day. They all want a job and the money but don't want work.

Well said.
