Ed Visa Run Where To Apply Without The Moe ?

Featured Replies

Hi, i'm learning thai language in Phuket for 1 year and need to apply for 1 year Education visa but the school can give me only the school certificate but not the Ministry of Education letter. Where is the best the best place to apply for me ? Kuala Lumpur, Penang ? Singapore ? Thanks a lot :)

My school (Patong Language School) told me that you only need their letter if you go to Singapore, no MOE paper required. I do not know if this is true for all schools or not.

Normally the ED visa will only be issued when holding the supporting documents of the MOE, regardless of where you apply.

Depends on where its applied for. In the US I have never had a MOE certificate but just a letter from the school and never an issue for 3 different visa's. Probably a little more stringent in Malaysia or Laos.

In SEA consulates they just give a 90 day ED visa and then you need whatever documentation the local immigration office requires for 90 day extensions.

Not sure what those req's are in terms of docs for extensions.

thanks a lot, do you know someone be refused for an ED visa in Kuala Lumpur because he didn't have the document from the ministry of education ?
