Non Immigrant 'o' (marriage Or Thai Child) In Kl

Featured Replies

Good morning,

I am planing my first trip to Kuala Lumpur next month for a new one Year - Multiple entree Non Immigrant 'O' Visa. I would like to ask about recent experiances to make my trip as smooth as possible.

a) Is KL still the best option for such a Visa in the "neighborhoud" ?

:) I am planing to get into KL on a monday evening, and head to the embassy Tuesday morning. Leaving back to BKK on WED at 20.00. Is that possible with the given time? The Visa would be available for pickup on wed, correct?

c) Visa based on Thai wife, what should i bring besides my passport? Marriage certificate (orginal and copy ) - Visa application form and picture - Wife's blue housebook, Wife's Thai ID ( copy ) - bankbook showing an ecess of THB 100,000 ( is that still the amount asked? ) - a letter from wife asking to issue the visa - Son's (Thai) birth certificate. Did i miss anything?

d) What is the best time to get to the embassy and what are the wait times?

Thank you for all your help.

Sounds good but you need Bhat 400,000. seasoned in Thai bank for at least 2 months if not 3. To apply for visa based on marriage.

That is absolutely not true. You need the 400k in the bank if you want to get a year extension. The OP wants a multiple entry Non O visa which is something entirely different.

For the multiple entry Non O visa based on marriage with a Thai then 100k in a Thai bank account should be enough in KL.

For the visa 100,000 in the bank is all that is required in KL. it is the only place in Asia that will issue a multiple entry.

The nearest other option is Perth, Australia, with no money required.

As said, 400,000 (or an income of 40,000 a month) is only required for an extension of stay.

This will help.

Lite Beer, thank you so much.

This will help.

=> Great stuff. Here is it in plain text - apparently from the Thai Consulate in Kuala Lumpur

The 1st option is a bit confusing - a Non-O for people with a spouse or kids, who work for a Thai company?! With or without WP? The second option is what the OP is looking for.
