Coming From Air, No Visa, Can Stay Only 15 Days Now And Not 30?

Featured Replies

Hi all. I heard from someone that since a few days if u arrive to Thailand by air and without visa u can only stay 15 days in the Kingdome, they changed the measure for safety reasons. Is this true?

Length of stay depends on nationality

What Passport are you using?

For most people it is 30 days.

Normally it is 30 days if you come in by Air, the 15 day rule only applies if you do a land border run to neighboring country

If you've heard this at home, then I'm guessing you are from a country with which Thailand only allows Visa on Arrival. VoAs are only for 15 days and cannot be extended.

Note you must meet two other requirements:

- The applicant must possess means of living expenses at the amount of 10,000 Baht per person and 20,000 Baht per family accordingly.

- The applicant must possess a passport with at least six-month validity and must present full paid ticket which is usable within 15 days since the date of entry

If you are from one of the 21 countries below, you fall into this category:

1. Bhutan : Kingdom of Bhutan

2. China : People’s Republic of China

3. Cyprus : Republic of Cyprus

4. Czech : Czech Republic

5. Estonia : Republic of Estonia

6. Hungary : Republic of Hungary

7. India : Republic of India

8. Kazakhstan : Republic of Kazakhstan

9. Latvia : Republic of Latvia

10. Liechtenstein : Principality of Liechtenstein

11. Lithuania : Republic of Lithuania

12. Maldives : Republic of Maldives

13. Mauritius : Republic of Mauritius

14. Oman : Sultanate of Oman

15. Poland : Republic of Poland

16. Russian Federation

17. Saudi Arabia : Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

18. Slovakia : Slovak Republic

19. Slovenia : Republic of Slovenia

20. Taiwan

21. Ukraine

so sorry Im talking bout spanish passport, we usually have 30 days

Spain, 14 days only at Airportborder? That must be a rumor you are talking about which is wrong, I by the way just arrived from Singapore on Tuesday with an Austrian Passport and 30 days-no problems.

-Sunbelt Asia-

What surprises me, is that -LIECHTENSTEIN- still is with the 14/15 days Visa-also on a Airportborder in the list.

Looking at that list you can clearly see, that this tiny, but rich country does not belong to the group of countrys on that list.

That only short, 14 days Visa exemption and maybe his attitude costed, some years ago the life of one of the Artistocrats (Von Hohenlohe) of Liechtenstein and a regular guest of TH.

He died in a Police prison, after it was seen at Suvarnabhumi Airport that he had tried to change the entry stamp in his Passport to hide a short Overstay and was imprisoned.

Why the Thai Authorities do not change the Visa exemption regarding Liechtenstein?

So that Visa exemption fits in to other Western Europe countrys.

Right now there is a poster on another thread claiming he received only 15 days when flying in from Vientiane, Laos. Perhaps this thread started the rumour.
