Would anyone know how to go about getting a spot on walking street for a food stall?

Something similar to the pizza and kebab stalls at the end of soi diamond and the likes.

Is it town hall that issues a permit to trade?

Are the spots rented out by bar owners?

Is it impossible to get into and mafia run?

Thank you for any help/info/advice

good question.

Isnt it the shop proprieters that you would be renting space from?

Maybe someone here knows about the licensing, dont know if your question would be better on the pattaya forum?

I do not think there are any foreigners who own such a stall and i really doubt any Thai who owns one there will be on Thai visa.

Best bet would be to speak with one of the stalls and see what they tell you, and to make sure speak with 10 and if 2 answers match then you have a winner.

But if it was easy and hassle free i am sure there will be 100's more Thai stalls

Aren't these stalls more or less outlawed these days, anyway?

The only time i have seen any (and just a few) they were wheeled into Walking Street at about 2 AM, and did a little business for an hour before only the dregs of the go-go bars came out onto the streets. Hardly seemed worth it tbh

Not Walking Street, but i remember sitting in a beer bar in soi 8 for a while, and, all of a sudden, there was a flurry of activity from the stall holders, who quickly disappeared out of sight, taking their stalls with them. Then the BIB pickup cruised down the soi. This happened twice during my brief stay in the soi that night. Which leads me to believe they ARE outlawed (or highly regulated, and therefore costly)
