g00dgirl
I very urgently need to use an AC adapter for a SONY VAIO P laptop anywhere in Phuket. If I could borrow it for a few hours to make backups it would be enough. If anyone has a spare one I would buy it. If you know anyone who has one anywhere in Thailand to express EMS to me, please let me know. It needs to be for the P series, others are not compatible, it has 10,5V output and 2A. ozymandious
Go to the basement of big c. Comp shop under the inclinator. They sell power supplies for laptops, all brands. Just bought a replacement there recently. If you have your original 'power brick' bring it with you to size up the connector pin. Or else bring your original computer and see if it will get some juice.
g00dgirl
Thanks I will go there now, I just also thought about going to that electronics store in the BIG C basement to check even if they can build one for me. Sony support is useless. Can not order, have not .. Have to try Singapore. Considering I bought the laptop here in Phuket from Sony at Central, they should keep some basic parts in stock. g00dgirl
Update: The IT store in the Big C basement under the escalators only has laptop power supplies for HP, Acer, but not Sony / Lenovo / IBM. They could not help. But I went to the Electronics store at the end of the basement and one of the technicians in their little repair / lab put together a custom power supply for me within 2 hours, 350 Baht for the work, 150 Baht for the parts. Reasonable price. He put the custom SONY plug onto a new AC Adaptor that almost matches the Voltage and Ampere. (The original uses 10,5V 1,9A, the custom one 10V 2A, close enough) At least I can power up the laptop now and don't have to wait 7 days or more for expensive Sony parts from Singapore. Was it at the electronics shop itself? Or near it? I need a new power supply for my 17" Samsung LCD. Or maybe he can repair mine... g00dgirl
At the electronics store at the very far end of the basement. The lab is part of the store, they should be able to fix it or make a new power supply.
katasyd
Go to the Sony service shop in Phuket town, near the bus terminal on the same side of the road as Royal Phuket City hotel. I got a new power supply for my Vaio there and in stock. They only delay was the cashier using her calculator for my change.

I had called them first thing (the Phuket town Service Center and later the retail stores), but the power supply was not in stock and they would have had to order one from Singapore, quoting 7 days, and I could not wait 7 days.
