Thai males are very attracted to females who are in any way associated with higher social class, be it fair skin, wealth, education, country with higher GDP, bridge of nose, the list of superficial qualities goes on. Korean and Japanese are famous for putting themselves in situations where they are at high risk due to the fact that their countries have such low levels of random crime that they cannot conceive of strangers attacking them. Sexual violence is rampant in this country and usually dismissed by the police as a "husband and wife's private affair".

Put these 3 facts together and it should not surprise anyone that there will be a lot more of these stories, the vast majority not making it to the press.
