Dmax Seat Belt Warning Light

Featured Replies

Can anyone help with any info on how to disable the seat belt warning light on the dash, I have a Dmax Super Platinum.

It is not really a problem, but would be nice to turn it off without the seat belt being used.

Thanks in advance.

Ah well, disconnect the right lead, that is all.

Have a look in the seatbelt connector.

Snip, snip and that irritating light reminding you of your stupidity is gone.

But why not just wear the seatbelt.

Were you ever in a crash?

I was.

Twice.

Can still tell you about, because of the belt.

If you don't like to wear a seatbelt, why don't you just paint black color over the light? Or maybe - to keep the re-sale value of the vehicle after an accident - just put a plaster or black electric tape over it?

I m not going to tell you to wear seatbelt, cause thats your business.

But I am going to warn you of not using seatbelt if you have airbags. Airbags is a safety feature, but having airbags blow up and not wearing seatbelt will normally whiplash or break your neck.

So disconnecting seatbeltwarning I would also disconnect airbag. Done on most post office cars even in Scandinavia. Some cars have a key to disconnect airbags, but most must do it on the plugs or cables.

Disconnecting seatbeltwarning is usually done on the plug under seat, and its position depends on if its a belt sensor or seat weight sensor. Knowing Izu I would say they use the first less expensive option.
