- Crossed to Thai-Lao friendship bridge on Sunday, 04 July: ca. 15 min waiting to get the 30-day Lao visa (B1500)

- Checked in to the Douang Pra Seuth hotel, ca. 200 m away from the Thai Consulate on Rue Bourichane: B700-1300 per night incl. breakfast, very clean and comfortable (since new)

- Visa application form: double-entry tourist visa (Number of Entries Requested: "2x" below the two photographs), local guarantor: name, address and tel. # of hotel, duration of proposed stay: "60 days". Try to complete all (most) fields in the form, otherwise you might be asked to provide that info)

- Monday, 05 July: started cuing up as 9. person ca. 07:15, by 08:30 (opening) ca. 30 people in the cue

- Received number 09 inside the consulate, visa application forms submitted by 08:45

- Waited some 10 min inside the main building for a receipt

- 09:00 finished submitting the visa application (no fee for tourist visas until 31 Mar 2011)

- On that day ca. 500 people submitted their visa application, there was apparently noone selling cue numbers

- Tuesday, 06 July: pick-up of visa, started cuing up at 12:15, opening 13:00, finished 13:20

Monday and Wednesday are apparently the busiest days, and Tuesday and Thursday the easiest

I need smbd to cast light on situation about issuing double entry TOUTIST visas in Vientiane.

I'm going to Thai consulate in Lao next week. Today I found very recent subject on this forum No More Multi Entry Resident B Visa From Vientienne . I understand that B visa isn't tourist visa, but anyway I've got doubts.

Has anybody got multiple entry TOUTIST visa in Vientiane recently? Are there any problems in getting tourist visa at all?

Non immigrant B visa has nothing to do with tourist visas. Vientiane is still issuing two entry tourist visas.

If you have a history of tourist visas they can and will refuse to issue another. But there does not appear to be a set criteria yet.
