p_brownstone
I have just bought a new Samsung Monitor which has input sockets for DVI and HTMI - my Motherboard has both output options too. Can anyone suggest which I should use to get the best picture? Many thanks. Patrick
monty
Image quality they will be the same, as the images transmitted through an HDMI cable are based on DVI signal. Hence you can also use simple adapters to change between HDMI and DVI (video only). HDMI has some added advantages (especially with TV sets, not with monitors) as the same cable carries the sound as well in digital format. For example hooking up a DVD player or a HD satellite receiver to an LCD/plasma TV would only need the HDMI cable.
steve187
i have my pc connected to a samsung led tv via hdmi and it takes both the video and audio signal no need for a separate audio cable. good for watching movies but not for computer work, but it is a tv not a monitor
