Hi everybody,3BB /Maxnet is blocking https access to international servers since today. does anyone experience this with other providers as well?I find it a critical privacy issue, additionally most webbased mail servers use https as well as private areas on websites and social networks.

I'm on TOT here in Bangkok using TOT's DNS as the primary and Google DNS as the secondary; no problem in reaching https sites or Gmail. Already been to a couple of my secure/https banking web sites today and have received/sent email on my Gmail account several times today also...to include just a few minutes ago. No problems...must be a 3Bb thing, at least in your area.

Ahhh. I just thought it was me. The trading program I use won't connect to my broker's server today, although normal browsing works on my 3bb connection. So I'm having to use my GSM edge modem which works fine.

I had this problem once before with 3bb and it resolved itself.

Bangkok ./ Chang Wattana here and with 3BB.

All https and services requiring a secure connection (Outlook, Thunderbird, Live Messenger, LogMeIn, Vivaldi etc) have been blocked all day.

Things beginning to sporadically return, drop-outs regularly occurring. In the time of writing this, LogMeIn has stopped working again but Live Messenger is still up.

Email clients still down.

Does anyone think that 3bb's service has gone downhill recently. I seem to get a lot of disconnects and outages which didn't happen before.

Generally I've been happy with 3BB. I connect very close to the package I pay for (16 meg). However, I am close to the exchange.

That said, this problem with secure connections has cost me quite dearly today. All my services now down again. Annoying considering I'm paying more for a slightly slower connection than I would back in the UK.

in bkk its partially working again :)

I agree with the worsening of the connection quality in the last few days. However its not a issue with this provider only. We had TRUE, TOT, MAXNET ,...

They all need to be shown that this isnt the right way to handle customers and deliver services. Thats why when there is any issue we call immediately.

Well HTTPS might be OK but my torrent download/upload speeds have taken a massive hit....hardly any speed at all since this morning when I was at max. Basically if there isn't a torrent user in Thailand then I may as well not bother....this is so tedious. What the hel_l did 3BB or whatever they call themselves now do today and also their stupid call centre do not even answer the phone. Boring boring boring !!!!

Also my internet speed is sporadic to say the least...this page took 1 minute to load. Please don't say its only me out there as I have touched nothing.

looks like my premier packed is not more on the website, and 28 July they start upgrade 4 mbit to 5 mbit, so maybe the problem today has something to do with these upgrades.

i have just checked out their website and their 8Mb/1mb is now 888bht and the 6Mb indy has gone which was 1,000bht.

I hope they upgrade 6Mb to 8Mb and hopefully the next bill will be less.

This website makes me laugh. To quote :-

"The speed that users can use maximum depending on the number of users".

I have the 10mb/1mb package and I am currently getting speeds of 10kb/s when downloading if I am lucky so how many users does that equate to ! They should call it the Thailand wide web because outside Thailand it is absolutely useless, I may as well get out my 56k modem from 15 years ago. A pathetic service who constantly blame the end user equipment, I have already used TOT and CAT so only True to go but what is the point.

It also looks like they are trying to squeeze out the Premier service by not offering lower speeds/price points. Not sure this bodes well at all :(

I wonder what happens to folk who were on their 6/8Mb premier offerings?

Anyone notice that they have removed references to International; Internet on the Premier package?

Agree with this 100%.

In the near 2 years we have been in our new house I have called TT@T, Triple T, 3B or whatever incarnation they are at the time maybe 7 or 8 times to have someone come out because of zero or poor connectivity. In every case the helpline has initially suggested my own computer or modem is at fault. When an 'engineer' does eventually arrive most times he will suggest my computer is at fault. It is here that I can have my one piece of fun when I tell him to try my connection with his own laptop. He has always had the same problem as me and is then forced to admit yes there is a problem elsewhere.

Unfortunately 3B is the only ADSL option in this area and with 3G but a distant light? on the horizon looks as though we are stuck with them.

Oh, and these last 2 days our connection has been horrible or non existent.

3B is really getting worse and worse. This week for example I have been unable to call their helpdesk from my mobile phone - it just goes blip and hangs up. From a fixed line there are no problem but I don't have a fixed line anywhere near my PC.

No "press 9 for english" anymore. Once someone pick up you ask them "do you speak english". The answer is always "moment sir" and then you're put back in the queue. With some luck the next time you come around the person answering may speak English.

You then spend the next 10 minutes explaining the problem, just to be told you're being forwarded to the local support for your area. More waiting time. Now same as before, "do you speak english - moment sir ..." until you finally talk to someone who should be able to help. "Ok sir, half an hour and it is fixed". You wait an hour, and it's still not fixed and you want to call back .... but now you have to start from scratch again, calling the central number, waiting for someone to speak english, explain the situation again, get forwarded to the local support office, finding someone to speak english, explain the situation....

Frustrating to say the least.

My torrents are averaging 0.0 KB/s to 4 KB/s today (both uploading and downloading), while last week over 300 KB/s downloading with my apparently no longer existent 3 MB/s premier package. On my TT&T phone line here in Chiang Rai, I don't think I have any other ISP options...which is becoming a serious problem. I wonder if they will automatically switch me to the new 5 MB/s premier package for double the price I'm paying now...probably!
