Today, I finally made test withdrawal with my new fee free US Ally (formerly GMAC) visa debit card. For comparison, I also made an identical withdrawal my fee free Schwab visa debit card. My Schwab account had a $31.03 debit while the Ally account had $31.34. I called Ally and apparently they charge a 1% foreign transaction fee, so it is not so free when used overseas. I guess I'll be using this card only for emergencies.
