THAILAND VS CHALLENGER AT THE QUEEN'S CUP

Elite Boxing has reached a ground-breaking agreement with long-time ally, Songchai Ratanasuban, to incorporate one event from the Thailand vs Challenger (TVC) Series into the 2010 Queen's Cup on August 12 at Sanam Luang in Bangkok (in front of the Grand Palace).

The Queen's Cup, which is the biggest event in the muaythai calendar for female fighters, is officially promoted by Songchai's company, One Songchai Promotions. Following negotiations with one of Songchai's closest partners within the industry, it has now been confirmed that Elite Boxing will take on the role of official co-promoter of this prestigious event.

As part of the agreement, four TVC fights will be incorporated into the Queen's Cup fight card. However, the biggest news is that the incorporation of TVC into the Queen's Cup means that there will also be a break from tradition as male fights will be included to the event.

The Queen's Cup has been held in honour of Her Majesty the Queen of Thailand on her birthday, August 12, every year since its inception in 1996.

Each year, a crowd of 100,000 spectators gather in the large open-air venue of Bangkok's Sanam Luang (Royal Field) to pay their respects to their beloved Queen. In addition to the muaythai, the evening also includes a spectacular candle ceremony at 7.19 pm.

The televised event will be hosted by one of Thailand's most famous female stars, Sonia Cooling.

Being involved as a co-promoter of the Queen's Cup is further proof of the growing reputation of Elite Boxing as they continue to establish the TVC brand as the sport's most recognizable international product.
