My non imm ed visa expires on the 16th of september but i will renew it. however, i am due on the 6th of september to report for 90 days.

will i be able to renew my visa on the same day as the 90 day report? (i ask because i am not sure if it needs to be within 7 days)

yes, you can do that without problem. You also wont lost any time on your extention as it will just be added on times from the 16th.
