Hog Head
What method is used to calculate the octane of Thai petrol? RON MON Average of the above? I am setting the compression ratio of my 2332cc VW engine and need to know how the AKI is claculated
katabeachbum
RON, as in Europe
Hog Head
That is bad news for me and my dynamic compression ratio calc 95 RON = 91 AKI or an average of RON + MON as used in the USA

RON at 40-45? baht/litre Most bigbikes have the same problem now

Even Shells 95 V Power is now blended with Ethanol, but as I recall less than 10 %.
Hog Head
I have recalculated the dynamic compression ratio to work on this crappy fuel. Not happy, but this is all I can do until E-20 becomes more readily available Bring on E-20 or better yet E-85 and then I can really increase the compression and suck back even more of it. At the same time I also want Shell V-Power petrol back for my bikes but that is a politically driven impossibility in the LOS
