Dates When Border Checkpoints Not Open

Featured Replies

I have to make my first exit in October, I am looking at sunday October 10th and will use eithe Mae Sot or Mai Sai, not sure which at the moment,as I will be travelling from Nakhon Sawan I do not want to have a wasted journey so how do I know if they crossing will be open? Last week there were 2 Bank Holidays, do they close on Bank Holidays? If there are any more Bank Holidaysleft this year can someone tell me when they are?

If crossings are closed for whatever reason and are known to be closed in the calender would it be possible to flag these up at the begining of the year for the year? Obviously there might be situations that will develop locally that might bring a temporary local closure then that will be unforeseen circumstances but I think this would be useful for the future.

Any help or thoughts would as usual be most welcome and I thank you all in advance.

Borders are open every day, regardless of holidays etc.

Mae Sot is currently closed over a dispute between Thailand and Myanmar, but should be open in Oct.

Landborders are open every day , mostly from 7am to 8pm.

Mae Sot , if open , is closing normally at 4pm so you have be there by 3pm.

I am not sure if and when this borderpoint will reopen again.
