Excerpt from an announcement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs dated 10 Aug 2010:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will launch the online media accreditation website or the MFA Media Online Service (MMOS) on Monday, 16 August 2010. The MMOS is a system developed by the Foreign Ministry to support the following services to members of media:

2) Online accreditation service for members of foreign media intending to work or reside in the Kingdom as well as for the annual renewal of the media accreditation to obtain extensions for visa, work permit and press card. The MMOS will also expedite the procedure and support the Foregn Ministry's environmental friendly policy by reducing the usage of paper.
