October 6, 201015 yr I currently have a bit of a dilemma regarding my visa and work permit. I obtained a 3 month, single entry Non-B visa from vientiane and had the title of this thread stamped above it. I have since applied for a work permit which hasn't been issued, hasnt been rejected and every day they say "phone back tomorrow". The application has formally been in for around 4 weeks now. Now I am really running out of time, my visa has expired and I am on my 7 day extension from immigration. This stamp states that I can't apply for another extension. So my question is, assuming labour don't perform miracles and produce the work permit in the next few days, will vientiane issue another single non-B? If so what paperwork will I need? Since I had a visa before issuing my application I used a WP2 so do not have a WP3 receipt. Last time I went to vientiane I didn't need a WP3, just the same 500 pages that go to labour. Would this be ok? Any other options?
October 6, 201015 yr You would need the same paperwork. Try to get a WP3 form from labour, this is probably enough for immigration to accept your extension as long as the other documents are in order.

Are you saying I would be able to get an extension from immigration without an issued work permit? I am currently on a 7 day extension which was the longest they would offer and that says that no further extension will be issued.
October 6, 201015 yr The wp3 signals to immigration that you will get a work permit. It should be enough and it is worth a try. But no guarantees.
