honey2000
I'm looking to pick your local knowledge of Thailand. I am looking to take out medical insurance for my Thai girlfriend who is now one month pregnant. I have been looking on the inter net but so far all companies I've seen refer to ex-pats, tourists (long & short stay) & business/corporate cover. Do you know or can you recommend any companies that specialise in medical cover for Thais. I am looking to get cover for her & the baby for any emergencies that may arise for the long term. powderpuff
A..I.A. Asian arm of A.I.G. Bit of a joke really. You fall down & cut your arm - you get money. Then at about 20,000 baht you are maxed out for the year. Better to go set up something with your hospital of choice. Lock them into a package price & start making payments. mkawish
For a Thai, she has numerous inexpensive avenues. Have her call up her local Social Security office. Does she work before? PM me, if you like. Good luck. A..I.A. Asian arm of A.I.G. Bit of a joke really. You fall down & cut your arm - you get money. Then at about 20,000 baht you are maxed out for the year. samran
just note, now she is pregnant, insurance is unlikely to cover anything related to the pregnancy. Most companies need a 12 months before the cover a pregnancy. if your wife is working however, there will be cover and re-imbursement of costs up to 15,000 (from memory) under the social security.
