AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND (BNO NEWS) -- The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) on Monday said its president would cooperate with FIFA's Ethics Committee after a probe was launched into allegations he offered to sell his vote in the bidding race to hosting the 2018 World Cup.

"Further to information made public by The Sunday Times, the OFC President and FIFA Vice President Reynald Temarii will cooperate fully with the FIFA Ethics Committee and the FIFA Secretary General," the OFC said in a statement.

"Reynald Temarii welcomes a full and thorough investigation so that all the facts can be heard. Until such time as the findings of the FIFA Ethics Committee have been released, OFC will not make any further comments on this matter," the OFC added.

According to The Sunday Times, Temarii and Amos Adamu, a Nigerian member of FIFA's executive committee, offered to sell their votes to journalists who posed as lobbyists during an undercover investigation.

The Sunday Times reported that Temarii asked for three million New Zealand dollars ($2.3 million) for a sports academy, while Adamu asked for $800,000 for four artificial soccer fields.
