Hi guys.. me and my thai GF are planning to get married this November, i'm 29 and she is 26 we have been together for 3-4 years now so we want to make the next step into adulthood,

The main problem we envisage is that i dont have a full-time job i have been working a cash-in-hand job on a local market, and i havent paid taxes for a few years (but not claimed off the state either)

I cant get a work confirmation letter for my boss because the work is not through a LTD business, I really feel this will be a problem for our visa app everything else is perfect we got 1000's of pics together

dating back 3-4 years, mountains of MSN chat, 100's of SMS phone messages, my mum's house is where im registered to live so i got all the docs for that, the money is not a problem either i have a few thousand

saved-up and my mum's bank account is healthy too, BUT i havent a full-time 'proper job'................... So if there is any advice out there i would be so grateful

You will need to show that you will be able to support yourselves without recourse to public funds. Sponsors usually have to provide their bank statements and evidence of their earnings, such as pay slips or if self employed their SA statements.

If unable to provide any part of this evidence you will need to explain in your sponsor's letter why.

See Maintenance and accommodation for more.

These days the Entry Clearance Officers try and decide as many applications as possible on the paperwork alone.

If the paperwork shows that, on the balance of probabilities, she qualifies for the visa then it will be issued without an interview.

If the paperwork fails to show that she qualifies, then she will be refused without an interview.

It is only if there is an area of doubt, but not enough to refuse, that she will be interviewed.

So, make sure that the paperwork shows that all the requirements are met and every possible question the ECO may have is answered.
