2010-10-25 20:46:41 GMT+7 (ICT)

KABUL (BNO NEWS) -- A Dutch aid worker and his Afghan driver were abducted by unidentified gunmen in northern Afghanistan on Monday, the provincial government said.

A government spokesman said the aid worker and his driver were stopped by gunmen in Takhar province and taken to another car, which the spokesman said is believed to have went to neighboring Kunduz province.

The spokesman said the aid worker and his driver were working for an aid group helping disabled people, but did not give the name of the organization.

NATO did not immediately respond to messages left by BNO News.
