Well, some Taiwanese, South Koreans, and Kuwaitis might give a thanks. Some folks not, that the way of the world.

BTW, last month I spent three days with a Lao refugee family who'd gone to the U.S. in 1976 with their four young boys and three suitcases, and no $$$. During some conversation we kind of wondered how they might have fared if there'd been no war in Laos, or if the LGMs hadn't taken over. As it is, one son is an orthopedic surgeon, one a lawyer, one a computer guru, and the last "boy," who was two when they hit the U.S., is a successful dentist.

And, yes, other families have done well, too, in different ways, and many have done less well.

And don't forget this is an international forum, we may have members here from countries where the navy dropped some bombs and killed some people, even in Europe, not that very long time ago.

Yes happy birthday!, they do have have their place but as an ex desert rat I prefer Storming Norman's assessment of the USMC.

Happy Birthday, I have been fortunate to know allot of good Marines. And while I know they are out there somewhere, I have yet to meet a really bad one.

Add Russians to that, in the end they made the greatest sacrifice to beat Germany in WW2.

But you would exist Hitler had no intention of slaughtering everyone.
