My wife and I have ecently moved back to Thailand (I'm from the UK she is Thai) She is looking for some gainful employment that would earn her some money. She has NVQ qualifications in childcare and developement from the UK, and we are thinking this could be an opportunity for her. Are ther any criteria that she needs to meet to do this? what could she expect to charge for a child per week? Do you think it feasable?. We are in Sisaket and i have seen nowhere that does this here yet.

Any information given bt anybody would be gratfully appreciated

Cheers

Neil

If you decide to keep the nursery small and private, no one is going to bother you.

What you can charge depends on what do you plan to offer to parents.

If you have a licensed nurse on site and assistants and

keep teacher to student ratio under 1 to 5,

the rough estimate that you need to charge each student would be

around 200THB per day to breakeven.

Would parents in your area be able to support such nursery school?

Currently we pay 200THB per hour, per child, per day, to get tutorial in Math at middle and high school levels.

Seriously, the cost of quality education in Thailand is by no means cheap in comparison with national income of her citizens.

Yet there are many religious organizations in Thailand that offer superior education to Thai at greatly reduced fees.

Bless them.
