Can someone explain to me what is the residence visa and what should someone do or have to acquire it??

There is no such visa but there is a permanent residence which is the subject of a pinned topic at the top of this forum. Basically it is permission to remain in Thailand for those meeting a rather stringent set of criteria.

There is no such thing as a residence visa. If you are talking about permanent residence status, there is a pinned section at the beginning of the Forum with lots of information.

i applied for a job and they replie the following ''non-Thai citizen is not eligible for our position without the residence visa''

so they mean just the visa for a permanent resident?

They probably mean that you should have Permanent Residency, but for most jobs an entry into Thailand on a non-immigrant Visa will be enough. It really are exceptions that Permanent residency is required, such as becoming the director of a public school (if i'm not mistaken).

I would suggest they are telling you nicely that the job is not available to foreigners.
