November 3, 201015 yr Can someone explain to me what is the residence visa and what should someone do or have to acquire it?? Many thanks Edited November 3, 201015 yr by kerastes
November 3, 201015 yr There is no such visa but there is a permanent residence which is the subject of a pinned topic at the top of this forum. Basically it is permission to remain in Thailand for those meeting a rather stringent set of criteria.
November 3, 201015 yr There is no such thing as a residence visa. If you are talking about permanent residence status, there is a pinned section at the beginning of the Forum with lots of information.
November 3, 201015 yr Author i applied for a job and they replie the following ''non-Thai citizen is not eligible for our position without the residence visa'' so they mean just the visa for a permanent resident?

They probably mean that you should have Permanent Residency, but for most jobs an entry into Thailand on a non-immigrant Visa will be enough. It really are exceptions that Permanent residency is required, such as becoming the director of a public school (if i'm not mistaken).
