Either. The most scenic is by train, of which there are 7(seven) a day from Ubon to Surin,all are Ubon -Bkk trains. Train from Ubon to Surin is approx., 3 hours. Bus service is provided by Nakornchai Air, a good bus line. Ubon -Surin- Chiang Mai.Tel.: 02 936 0009. 6 services a day.Have fun, Bill
