Jai Dee
THIS YEAR'S DROUGHT IS COMING TO AN END The Deputy Chief of the Royal Irrigation Department has stated that the drought crisis was near to being resolved. Mr. La_iad Sainamkheaw (ละเอียด สายน้ำเขียว), the deputy director-general of the Royal Irrigation Department, has spoken on the amount of water and the fear of drought reoccurring next year, saying it will have to be seen how much rain falls in each area during the next 3 months. Afterwards water management can again be commenced. As for the drought condition still inflicting lower North-eastern region, Mr. La_iad said this should be resolved in the coming period, as the amount of rainfall would be abundant from August until October. Meanwhile plains areas would have to prepare for possible flooding. As for the water arrangements in the Eastern region, Mr. La_iad said that as for the industrial sector, there should not be any problems, as accommodating plans have been prepared. This will involve routing water from major reservoirs into the water management system. Source: thaisnews.com
