Child Settlement Visa What Type Will She Get If She Is Successful ?

Featured Replies

Hi hope someone can help with a few questions,we applied for a child settlement visa for step daughter on the 12th October, we have had a email telling us her application is ready for collection in the VAC, so if we are successful i have a few questions please

what type of visa will wife's daughter get ( wife currently on FLR visa expires 25.05.2012 )

is there a time window in when she has to travel to UK or can she travel when ever ?

( I remember when wife had her first visa she had to enter the UK within 3 months)

regarding picking up daughters passport from VAC will she have to collect in person or can a friend collect for us

many thanks alan & rapeeporn

Her visa will be linked to her mother's, so will expire on 25/5/12. They then apply for ILR together. As she will, presumably, be under 18 she will not have to pass the LitUK test or equivalent course and will be able to apply as a dependent; using the same form as her mother and paying a much reduced fee.

No. As her visa will be linked to her mother's she can travel whenever she likes, as long as she enters the UK before her visa expires.

Not sure about this, but I assume that whoever took her and her application to the VAC needs to collect the passport, unless written authorisation has been given to VFS to release it to someone else.

Hi Alan

Great new on receiving the settlement visa for your daughter :D have you got a copy of the sole responibility letter that you submitted? I am just putting together my documents for my step daughter's settelement application, also the VAF4A form is a bit over the top for a child! half of the question will not be answered? what about pictures of the 3 of you togeather or was it just mainly your wife and step daughter?

Me and my wife head back on the 7th December and are hoping to bring my step daughter back on the 4th Jan!!!

Thanks in advance

Dubar!
