Last week I were at an job interview, providing work permits for their employees.

The interview started with questions regarding my education, and if I obtained my Bachelor Degree.

I am awaiting evaluation of my exam assignment, and to get my diploma where the courses are from

several different universities so it could take quite some times - I guess up to 3 months.

I was told the reason why they asking me this is because they are unable to apply for a work permit

unless I got a university degree.

When I came home I contacted my Swedish school and found out I can obtain two different diplomas

within days - 1 year University Diploma (60hp) respective University Diploma of a complete course

program, Development of eServices.

What I want to know if any of these documents should be enough to apply for a work permit?

I really need a work here in Thailand.

Kind regards

Never heard of a Degree being required for a Work Permit.

Is this a Teaching job or something special?

They asked for my original degree before my WP was issued. Thought it was quite normal for some professions.

yeah they wanted a degree when I got my first work permit they could/would not get it through their heads that I dont have one, they were adamant one was needed so I just printed one out that I found online.

Definitely a risky move!

You are aware that presentation of false documents is a serious crime in Thailand?

I would highly advise not doing so.

yeah I know that, at that time it was for a 3month employment period, that was 4 yrs ago, Ive now moved to another company (same position) and no degrees needed, they were happy with my high school certificates.

The rule / statement comes from the company that are under BOI (http://www.boi.go.th) sponsorship, that their foreign employees

need to file a diploma in their work permit application. I just want to know the proper definition of diploma, and if mine offical university

diplomas could do.
