I'm getting what I believe to be incorrect information from my lawyer about canceling my WP and extension of stay based on employment. I've come to the oracle for clarification;)

1. My extension of stay ends on Dec 2 and WP on Dec 10. If I leave the country on Dec 2 I'm assuming there is not need to visit immigration to cancel EOS as it ends on that day?

2. By allowing my EOS to come to an end is it correct that my WP automatically becomes invalid and no need for me to cancel? Or am I doing something illegal between Dec 2 ( expiry of EOS ) and Dec 10 ( expiry of WP )?

Just looking for the easiest way to do this.

EOS ends on last day of work. You have not provided that date. Immigration does want you to visit with a letter from employer on last day of work to cancel extension.

Work permit does not end with you leaving or extension and if labor office wants it returned it should be (not all require but some still do from reports).

I have not traveled this route so hope others can provide confirmation or better information.

Thanks Lopburi3. So, what would be the effect on my WP and EOS if I was to leave the country before my EOS expires without a reentry permit?

Your extension of stay would become invalid, your WP is less certain. You're employer would need to cancel it, and some labour offices still seem to want you to return it.
