Travel To Koh Samui This December

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am travelling to Koh Samui for 5 days in first week of December and wanted to ask if there has been any large impact to the island due to the recent floods. Will the cleaning up be complete or should I CANCEL my travel plans...

The bookings have been done but can still be canceled.

Please advise.

Thanks

Its still the rainy season early December. You might be lucky or not. Check the forecast 2 or 3 days before and make up your mind then I reckon.

The Thais here on Samui have got cleaning up after floods down to a fine art. I just wish they could organise themselves the same way in other things. Most of the island is back to normal now and you should be fine. Yes you may get wet occasionally but you soon dry out :D:thumbsup:

Just remember what Dec 2005 was like, youd bet better off with Hua Hin as that has been dry for the past few weeks and wont see rain till next April

I went for my honeymoon to Samui in Dec of 2007... around the 20th... Had no rains then, I figure now that this was right after the rainy season... Can you advise if Krabi will also have rains during 6th Dec to 10th Dec if I was to go there...

I am also considering Hua Hin... Not sure if this has as much party happening as Samui :):)

My girlfriend works at a hotel on Koh Samui. She reports that it's been raining almost constantly for the last three weeks.

Been looking up Phuket today, everything is so expensive there considering Koh Samui/ Krabi are low season... So its Phuket or Pattaya or Hua Hin...

Its a pity, cause I loved Samui when I visited in 2007... Would love to go there again someday when the rains are not a spoiler...

So its Hua Hin and Pattaya this early december, get both of the 2 worlds... Party in Pattaya and scenic beauty in Hua Hin...
