danh
Some of the better images I shot during Loy Krathong in Phuket over last weekend. Loy Krathong Phuket 2010 Any feedback welcome.
fabianfred
I like the firework one...and the dancer with the wings...... it seems that Thais have once again taken another peoples tradition and incorporated it into their own. The 'Kingala' is a Shan style dance. I personally do not find B+W photos especially interesting, and think that people often convert their pix because they think it seems more professional. There are some subjects which benefit from the style, but not many IMHO. Having gone through the darkroom days I jumped at colour when it was easily available. danh
Thanks for the feedback Fabianfred. I like black and white images as the attention is drawn to detail and lines rather than the colour - if i dont find the colour 'interesting' or part of the subject im trying to convey i remove it. I guess part of it is also down to the fact im colour blind so colour is less important to me and harder to balance in an image.
