Terry Davis, Group Managing Director of Coca Cola Amatil - which is an Australian-based bottler and distributor for Coca Cola across Oceania - made the announcement in Jakarta, saying that the increased investment is aimed to meet the country's growing demand, expanding its production capacity to one billion bottles per year. The announcement would double the company's investment in Indonesia. "The opportunity for Coca Cola Amatil in the Indonesian market is to participate in the growth in the consumption per capita of commercial beverages through increasing the availability of our products and by expanding our range into new products and categories," Davis said. "To facilitate this growth, we shall be increasing our investment in Indonesia to around $100 million per annum over the next three years through the expansion of our cold drink cooler fleet and our production and distribution capability. As a result, we plan to double our investment in Indonesia by the end of 2013," Davis added. According to the company, Indonesian businesses should be growing around 15 percent of total capital employed by the company over the three years. On Wednesday, Davis met with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to discuss the company's plan and its benefits to Indonesia as it already employees around 10,000 Indonesian nationals. -- © BNO News All rights reserved 2010-11-26
