Extending One'S Stay In Thailand

Featured Replies

A friend (Italian national) has a two-entry tourist visa, and arrived back in Thailand this past week on the second entry. This should have allowed her to remain until late Feb with the 30 day extension. However, she has just learned that she must leave Thailand early next week for a 4 to 5 day trip to a country where she will be unable to get another tourist visa in the time she is there. Question: what options does she have? For example, before she leaves here can she request a third entry on the original tourist visa? Alternatively, should she return to Thailand with no visa, can she extend the 30 day stay that would normally be granted? If so, by how many days? Grateful for any advice on this.

RS

Simple solution for a short trip, go to immigration and get a re-entry permit (1000Baht IIRC), that will protect her current entry stamp.

Needs a passport photo, forms at immigration.

For this to work she must return before her current entry stamp expires.

Yes. A Re Entry Permit will do the job. it will keep the permission to stay alive.

Thanks for the quick and precise replies. Presume request needs to be made at Chang Wattana? Also is there an on-line form that we can get before going to immigration. RS
