An extension always costs 1,900 baht.

What is needed depends a bit on the office you apply, but you will need to be named as the father on the birth certificate and staying with the child. You do well to show up together with the child (and mother if possible). Also bring the household registration of the child.

Thanks Mario

If thats the case I will just do two 400baht border runs as I leave soon anyway and live beside it

It has nothing to do with support - it is to visit child or wife that such extensions are issued.

thanks, feel free to change it to the correct term then

You are aware that a border run will only be 15 days rather than the 30 days you get by air?

Hi All

I'm not sure if I understood the OP properly.

Is the situation that he currently has a 90-day non-O visa for visiting a child and that he can get a 60 day extension to that by visiting a local immigration office?

If so, that would be very useful information for me.

Thanks a lot.

As far as I know Im allowed to do it once a year

A 60 day extension of stay is allowed to visit wife or child from any other type of stay and there is no set limit on how many times it can be issued.

Thanks for clearing that up,

So I could just extend the 15 day trips all year then?

cheers

In theory yes, but also consider the costs for travel and extensions. In the end it might be cheaper to get a multiple non-O in Australia, depending on the price of your ticket. You could almost get 15 months out of that, with a border run every 90 days and if you want a 60 day extension on the last entry.

I did say "set" limit. An office can make it what they believe is just and there have been reports of 4 per year being the limit at one place. As said most people would likely be better served with a multi entry non immigrant O visa if unable to extend yearly from Immigration.
