Re-Entry Visa In Bangkok Or Hat Yai

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I have planned a Trip from Bangkok to Hat Yai via Train around Next week. Currently I am Out of Thailand and would arrive in Suvarnabhumi in about 2-3 days. I have a Single Entry Touring Visa.

Suddenly feeling adventurous and thinking it would be nice to goto Butterworth / Penang in Malaysia --- As it's easy to make that trip form Hat Yai and I also have a Valid Malaysian Visa.

However, the problem is, my Visa is Single Entry and once I arrive in BKK in the next 2 days, I would've used it up. So if I leave out to Butterworth / Penang, then I don't have a valid visa to Enter Thailand again.

What are my options? Someone said that I can get a Reentry from the airport / BKK when I arrive in 2 days. Is it really possible? Where should I go? How much does it cost?

And how long does it take? Instead or Airport / Bkk, is it possible to do the same from Hat Yai?

Thanks.

-Shaf.

A single re-entry permit can be gotten from immigration for 1000 THB. It would be valid for the period of time your permission to stay is valid, which is 60 days on a tourist visa entry. They are generally not available at the airport at this time.

As a Tourist, I can only stay in Thailand for 60 Days? Oops!, I thought it was 90! Never stayed that long though.

Btw, the requirement is, I have to enter Thailand before the "Enter Before" set in the Visa right? (On mine, it shows 29-Dec-2010). After I enter before this date, I can stay for a further 60 days, is that right?

With a tourist visa you initially get a 60 day permission to stay stamp at the airport. You can get a further 30 day extension from immigration, cost 1900 THB, for a total stay period of 90 days. Correct, you have to enter Thailand before the enter before/expiration date on your visa.
