Police Certificate , Where And How Long?

Featured Replies

My wife has to get a police Certificate for the spouse visa to US. On a website it says 2-3 weeks to review and issue the document. Is there a way to expedite it ( pay some fees for a faster process) ?

Also , my wife lives in Kampaeng Phet province, which belongs to Chiang Mai's Embassy. Can she get her police certificate in Bangkok, or does she have to go to Chiang Mai? I suspect, in Chiang Mai it might take less time due to the less number of the applicants.

do u mean criminal record check? if so i donno about chiang mai, but in Bkk u can get it at the Police headquoter , infront of The offices at Centralworld building, if not mistaken its free but takes a couple days

Yep, that's where your wife need's to go for the Police check.

My gf went to Special Branch a week ago (I posted here about it). The gf needed a copy of my passport and an "invite letter from me" to the UK. Takes about 15 days ...no "Express" service :whistling:

when my missus got here certifacate, about 2 year ago,i had to pay 2000bht,and about 5/600bht bht postage to uk,and she never needed it in the end, looks good in the file though.

The Police Clearance Service Center is located at Building 24, Royal Thai Police Headquarters,

Rama I, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330

Phone numbers: 0-2205-2168-9 Fax: 0-2205-2169

E-mail: pcsc(at)police.go.th (change (at) to @)

You need to do this at the Police special branch on Rama 1, the last time i did the police check it took 10 working days. There is no fee for the report and you can have it mailed back to your address for 40 baht.

I was doing a visa for Brazil at the time and i needed to have the report certified at the F M A, might be best to check if you need to have the report certified.

For future references: my wife has just gotten a police clearance certificate for FREE,although she had to wait for 2 weeks,

Also, don't trust some members of this website, who say that they could do it for you faster. My wife contacted one of the member's "supposed to be wife" and she had asked my wife for 5000Bht and get it in 2 weeks.Otherwise we would have had to wait 45-60 days, plus some problems might occur down the road. WHAT A CROOK.

As it has apeared, the service is free (no expedited option) and everyone has to wait no longer than 2 weeks.

Free and waited about 10 days. She asked for "express service" (with the promise of some "tea money") and was told it wasn't available.

The copper that dealt with you and your Mrs must have been a bit short that month :whistling:;)

Thai libel laws are very strict, and unlike, for example, the UK saying that what was published is the truth is no defence.

Members are reminded of the forum rules

6) Not to post comments that could be reasonably construed as defamation or libel.

Defamation is the issuance of a false statement about another person, which causes that person to suffer harm. Libel involves the making of defamatory statements in a printed or fixed medium, such as a magazine or newspaper.
