Cheers to the Thai police for finding him in less than 3 weeks from when the arrest warrant was issued. Hope that they do keep him here. The treatment in a Thai prison is what he deserves.

With an extradition treaty between the United Kingdom and Thailand already in place, (see the following ref) http://www.siam-legal.com/litigation/extradition-from-thailand.php I find it dificult to understand why it took so long to trace and arrest this beast...:realangry:

It took that long to find this creep  dont know why

Dude your missing the point here. The other post from venturalaw was a good statement. It only took the Thai police 3 weeks to find the beast after the "Arrest warrant was issued from the UK". This treaty you talk about does not make the Thai police super heros, it doesnt mean that they start to investigate farangs here in Thailand. It just means tha the treaty states that if the UK has known citizens that are wanted back in the UK that they can ask the Thai police to help issure an arrest warrant.

I think the Thai police did a wonderful job finding the beast in a Country with a population of 67,764,000

Without any doubt this is a horrific crime, but what amazes me is how does anyone get the opportunity and access to abuse children of this age range without knowledge of parents/carers etc. I am in no way defending this piece of st but other people are supplying him with infants for his deprived habit.

What is being done to find these other people.

Maybe it's time to take a serious look at friends and neighbours we associate with and ask the question. It's a harsh type of reality but the fact is it could be happening in our suburbs where we live.

I know I could inform on anyone involved in this type of activity. Just a thought

He was arrested and bailed.

The charge was molestation. Quite mild in the pedophile armoury of what they do to children.

On such charges he was able to fly as he wasn't being detained nor was his pass port withheld.

British Justice is something that he fled from. It is something that has caught up with him 10 years after the fact. That is praiseworthy. It is also highly remarkable as his charge is a relatively minor one yet the Police never forgot about him in all that time. A bonus for the prosection is the hard evidence he has since the original arrest provided by way of the internet. That has been intercepted. Therefore, more grave charges may be applied this time.

Then again a single prosecution which gives jail time can be sought followed by an immediated re-arrest upon his serving that sentence. That way he can be kept inside for a very long period of time.

When something alerted the authorities to his existence and whereabouts the British Police did follow up and the Thai Police at last discharged their duties admirably.

I do question however, the previous 10 years here living under the radar without immigration picking up on him. After all it has been a computerised system for some years now. So why wasn't he detected within that system much earlier. You'd have to ask the Thai authorities that one. Unfortunately, it looks like bribe time lasted too long before an error was made.

Shortsightedness should not get in the way of giving him British Justice. If found guilty and placed on the sex offenders registser he wil not be able to travel abroad again and committ offences. Neither will he be able to move feely within Britain of live near to a school. He will be monitored and children will be protected.

In effect his life will be ruined. Personal freedoms greatly curtailed and a social pariah that can lead to his having to move due to neighbourly threats of violence. Some of you may find that prospect attractive.

Those of you who shout loudly for a Thai prison sentence should consider that much of the harsh regime you call for can be circumvented by money.

He could in fact be quite comfortable if that were the case. I personally can't see Thai Prison Officers so conspicuous by their absence, being at all concerned by his internet antics with their children.

In all honesty, can you?

Return him to Britain and let's be content that the system at both ends can work.

I'm sick and tired of people like this obviously disgusting guy. Had a very weird day at school, where an Indian got fired molesting a 12 year old in a toilet at school.

A chat with an older Thai English teacher was telling me what I already knew. They started to hate foreigners because of people like this (*&^%(_

They're the reason why everything's getting more difficult and we all get only a one year contract. What a sick world, I can't eat now, after reading what this guy did.

Actually, the Thai report is a bit more informative than the English report..

It states that this guy was working from a post office box in korat.

The police had been waiting in that post office for more than a week, until he finally showed up and was arrested on the spot.

The fact remains, anyone under suspiciaon of what i would rate as a crime of a high degree, should definately not be holding a passport. Also, this story is posted on koratfarang, and one guy actually knows the suspect, he was working in a school for god knows how many years. The police raided his home here, and found his PC and DVDs in his posession with many images of Thai children (including babies), naked and in compromising positions.

I think it is a big thumbs up for the Thai authorities to be able to track and trap this predator in 2 weeks. On the same sentiment, with all the surveylence technology in the UK, they just let this prick wander off with his passport and suitcase on an open-ended holiday. What a bunch of incompetent morons. 12 years to send a file to the Thai authorities.. they probably even issued him a new passport at the British embassy in BKK. I wouldn't even be surprised if he has been drawing his poension here for the past 18 months.. Or is that how they found him eventual;ly??... Did someone in the home office manage to find the right button on his PC??

But to issue an extradition request along with the request for his apprehension... well it beggers belief.

As for Igor's comment and compassionate commentabout the guy needing help... Sorry mate, it is a scientific fact that paedofelia is very easy to switch on in someones mind, and near impossible to switch off. He is 66 and has a history, he knew exactly where to run to from the UK, it was calculated. He ran the the most popular haven and holiday resort in the world with easy access for nonses. He is sick alright, but with an incurable illness, and once he escaped justice, he reoffended. Case closed... send him to a thai insane asylum if he is considered mentally ill, and not a criminal. I think it is probably worse than prison anyway.

Assuming this guy is guilty, let's show some compassion, too. Anyone who is sexually attracted to an 18 month old baby needs some help as well as some prison.

What's wrong with you? Compassion? This guy made money out of destroying other lives with the help of other people, some of them back in the UK.

How do they get connected, I mean who'd like to see this shit? Merry Christmas Santa Igor. :jap:

Gary Glitter Sentenced To 3 Years [+] Source: cbsnews.com

A Vietnamese court on Friday sentenced former British glam rocker Gary Glitter to three years in prison for molesting two Vietnamese girls, with the judge condemning him for "disgusting and sick" behavior.

Glitter, 61, whose real name is Paul Francis Gadd, was found guilty of committing obscene acts with two girls, ages 10 and 11, at his rented seaside villa in southern Vung Tau last year.

The former rock star showed no emotion while the verdict was read but threw the court into disarray by proclaiming his innocence afterward.

It is hardly an horrific crime. Molestation is the fondling and touching of. Get some perspective and then you may be able to consider the facts. Serial killers commit horrific crimes Howard. 'Uncles' with a neighbour's kid on their knee do not. They molest. Perspective.

Furthermore, I hope your error is merely spelling and not freudian when you describe his habit as being 'deprived'. Are you encouraging him or did you mean 'depraved'?

I know you are well meaning and that's commendable. But trust me, don't go spying on your neighbours.

Thai police arrest alleged British paedophile

British citizen David Charles Taylor, 66

BANGKOK, Dec 22 – A British man with an outstanding arrest warrant from a British court was detained in the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima on charges involving sexually abusing underage children and recording and selling video clips related to child sex abuse, a Thai immigration police officer told at a press briefing on Wednesday.

David Charles Taylor, a 66-year-old British national, was arrested at a post office in Nakhon Ratchasima under the arrest warrant in a 2001 extradition case after he fled the warrant issued by a court in Britain on charges of paedophile and has stayed at a hideout in Nakhon Ratchasima since 1998.

The arrest followed coordination between British and Thai officials.

While staying in Nakhon Ratchasima, Mr Taylor lured local underage boys and girls to his place and allegedly sexually molested them as well as recorded images as pornographic video clips for online sales via the Internet. The suspect also sent clips to his brother in Britain for sales.

The police seized DVDs involving child sex abuse and pornographic materials of naked children, including Thais and other nationals, a computer appliance for burning the DVDs.

In Britain, Mr Taylor earlier was arrested by British police and faces charges of the sexual abuse of children, aged between 18 months to 12 years old. British police found thousands of pornographic photographs of naked children, video footage of child abuse, sexual acts with adults and sexual relations with dogs. He was charged with 35 counts of paedophilia.

The Briton is due to be extradited to face trail in Britain immediately. (MCOT online news)

I am puzzled by two conflicting comments in this paragraph. "He was originally arrested in Leicestershire county, in central England and charged with 35 counts of child molestation and dissemination of child pornography, police said, but escaped to Thailand during the investigation."

Now unless released on bail, arrested means imprisoned. So how did he escape to Thailand. Normally when a person is on bail they not only surrender their passport but also have to post security, and for offenses such as these it wou8ld be large sum.

I think as usual we do not have the full facts.

Why did it take over 10 years to issue the arrest warrant? When did the British find out he was here?

When did the laws in Britain or Australia ever get applied quickly and fairly to all concerned regardless of their financial position or race ?

the police in Pommy land were probably too busy doing shifts at a rock concert or some other rubbish at the taxpayers expense for industries that think its free services by the taxpayer for them .

Unless theres a lot of money involved in one way or another a few poor English or Thai kids dont even make the ratings with the Cops .

Probably the only reason this has popped up now is he has an outstanding TAXATION bill or something . Western Justice and the police move ever so slowly or not at all without a lot of grease or pressure .

Corruption is the order of the day in the west and it wont change unless we get some spine and some values .

A couple of years we had a pedo living at jomtien Beach Condo., he virtually got caught with his pants down with a 12 year old boy, 400000.00 baht later, he was free as a bird. But , my gripe is, all the Thai business people, shop owners at the condo etc. still treated him as if he was a good guy, even the woman who rented him the condo where offense occurred. Child sex suspect held in Thailand

post-128-0-03532800-1293030580_thumb.jpg

British child sex suspect Charles David

Taylor has been arrested in Thailand

A suspected British paedophile wanted for abusing children as young as 18 months and selling online child porn has been arrested in Thailand after more than a decade on the run.

Charles David Taylor, 66, is now due to be extradited to Britain, where he was arrested in 1998 and charged with 35 child sex offences before fleeing to north-eastern Thailand.

There he allegedly continued to abuse children and record the activities for internet sales, the Thai Immigration Bureau said.

When British police arrested Taylor at his home in Leicestershire, they found more than 10,000 pornographic photographs of children on his computer - including images of boys being tortured and sexually abused by adults - and video footage of child abuse.

Thai and British investigators tracked Taylor to the north-eastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima, where he was arrested on Sunday at a local post office where he rented a mailbox.

A Thai court had issued a warrant for his arrest and extradition in 2001, on a request from British authorities who accuse him of sexually abusing children aged 18 months to 12 years old.

Taylor led Thai police to his apartment where they seized a computer, DVDs of child porn and explicit photos of Thai children and youngsters of other nationalities.

In Thailand, Taylor "lured children to have sexual activities and released video clips on the internet", the immigration bureau said. "He confessed that he would find children to take pictures of and then sell the images on the internet."

The British Embassy confirmed the arrest.

Taylor had been on the run from British authorities since 1998

David Charles Taylor, 66, is wanted for molesting children as young as 18 months and selling images of the abuse online.

He has been on the run for more than a decade after escaping to Thailand in 1998.

Thai police, who made the arrest in Nakhon Ratchasima, 260km (160 miles) north east of Bangkok, suspect he continued to abuse boys when he arrived in the kingdom.

"He sent back footage to the UK and his conspirators there created DVDs and sold them over the internet," immigration police officer Colonel Wiwat Khamchamnan said.

Police in Britain have been hunting Taylor in connection with allegations that he abused boys and girls aged between 18 months and 12 years old.

He was originally arrested and charged in Leicestershire but escaped to Thailand during the investigation.

The British embassy in Bangkok confirmed it had contacted immigration police about the case and the Thai criminal court issued an arrest warrant on December 3.

British authorities will apply for extradition, a spokeswoman said.

A British man accused of abusing children has been arrested in Thailand after more than 10 years on the run.

Charles David Taylor, 66, from Leicestershire, fled the UK in 1998 while facing child pornography and molestation charges.

The Thai Immigration Bureau said he was suspected of abusing children aged as young as 18 months and selling child pornography around the world.

The Home Office said they had requested Mr Taylor's extradition.

He was originally charged after British police found video footage of child sex abuse at his home, as well as more than 10,000 pornographic photographs of children on his computer, including images of torture and bestiality.

He was arrested earlier this week at a Thai post office, where he rented a mail box, following co-operation between Thai and British investigators, the immigration bureau said.

It added a computer, DVDs of child pornography and explicit photos of Thai children had been seized from his apartment.

Apart from confirming extradition had been requested, the Home Office said it could not comment on the case.

I suppose he will escape prison here, as it is more ecconomical to send him to the UK who the over-burdoned taxpayer will foot the entire costs of his repatriation, court case and prisonn stay at more than ?900 a week. With his colour TV in his cell and internet access in the prison library. Not to mention 3 meals a day asnd coffee on Sundays.

Only to be released far too early (probably less than 2 years) for good behaiviour, and then the taxpayer will have to foot the bill of constant probation, and community resettlement with a nice council apartment, fully furnished and weekly pension in excess of ?100.

I wouldn't be surprised he if has a legitimate claim to his back pension to his 65th birthday.

What I want to know... Is how, if he has been on the run from the UK since 1998. Did he manage to get his passport renewed?? The maximum validity of a passport is 10 years. So how has ha been able to live here for 12 years?

I suppose he was not bothering with Visa runs like everyone else. I think he should be put in prison here to serve out a long sentence before being extradited back to the UK to do his cushy term. I hope they separate him from his balls, i hope they kill him in thai prison.. save everyone a lot of trouble and expense.

What the hell are the British home Office thinking of?huh.gif... The Foreign Office have a hand in this as always.. they will do everything in their power to prevent a british citizen from spending any time in a foreign prison, because of the human rights abuses etc etc....

WAKE UP!!!

A grass-root problem and pre-disposing factor to all sorts of illegal activities being able to continue if not flourish is the corruption and greed factor in a society that cannot blame it on foreigners. When people place country, god, and kxng above love of money you may see a change.

The part i dont understand is how these people can still travel

internationally even after being charged considering all the computerisation today ?

For example, I assumed that the pictures taken of us all by immigration at

checkpoints were part of an elaboratecomputerised data base

so why can't they have some kind of data entry which immediately

warns the immigration office of the status of people like this ?

Why cant they be placed on some kind of " no fly " list ? Congratulations, Midas, in talking such good sense. It is ironic that law abiding folks with a genuine reason for applying for visas for various countries are sometimes refused on the most trivial grounds. Wake up Thai Immigration and British Authorities too, for that matter.

I dont see there is any excuse these days for people to be still be able to

abscond to Thailand and continue to live under the radar for so many years. :ermm:
