What is Graved Lax?????? It astounds me that places like Serenity who have all year to prepare a Christmas Menu dont proof read them before printing I hope more effort goes into the food preperation and presentation.

Gravlax or gravad lax (Swedish), gravad laks (Danish), gravlaks (Norwegian, Danish), graavilohi (Finnish), graavilõhe (Estonian), graflax (Icelandic) is a Nordic dish consisting of raw salmon, cured in salt, sugar, and dill. Gravlax is usually served as an appetizer, sliced thinly and accompanied by hovmästarsås (also known as gravlaxsås), a dill and mustard sauce, either on bread of some kind, or with boiled potatoes.

Bah Humbug Merry Christmas

Graved lax and all its translations is sold at Tops Central. Hovmastarsas is the swedish name for the sauce to go with it, sweet dill and mustardsaus, in most countries simply called gravlaxsaus.

Deliciuos :P

and HDs Christmas menu was so tempting we just had to go eat duck in Soho today :)

Mine was fantastic thanks! And all cooked without using a 'conventional' oven......

Carrots look a bit over cooked and what is the green pile lurking behind the turkey and sprouts.

Now off to cook mine

The carrots were mashed up roughly with a knob of salted butter thumbsup.gif

The 'green' pile is actually a large dolop of Cranberry sauce!

How did yours go?

A great new purchase from Tesco Lotus last week. I remember seeing them on late-night TV shopping channels several years ago and when I found myself with no oven for the first time, I remembered seeing these in the shops here. The instructions are in Thai but being able to see the food through the glass bowl made it easy to make adjustments. I think it's a great bit of kit.

We bought one about a year ago, Makro had a special on 990 baht reduced from about 1500

Still works well and is easy to clean

Couple of wet one in our local boozer on Chrisi Eve with some friends and our students who proved themselves by knocking back a couple of pints of lager...didnt like the bitter and impressed the locals.

I bought them those furry hats (including Wifee)that everyone...women...are wearing over here and they all look like kami kazi pilots just back from North Korea. :D

Christmas dinner was my special Roast Duck a la enfield style which they liked but also made a couple of bottles of my best red wines vanish. :o

Thought respectable young Thai females didnt drink..... :P

Today of course being boxing day..... gone shopping :ermm:

Now that it Boxing day seems that we are having a repeat of yesterday.

Couple of Chooks in the oven, loads of garlic bread, the lager is cold (just leave it outside ..no need to put in fridge)and we have a BIG pot of green curry on the go....should be good.

Must make sure that I hide my RED wines tonight ...otherwise its "Thai Du Vin" :burp: ....fancy a pint first.... :P ...must be done....
