$300 per day, is that visa cost, plus travel expenses?

or total cost of tourist package.

Does assigned 'guide' follow where visitor wants to go,

or does visitor follow where government assigned guide plans?

Hi yellow1red1

I was in Bhutan in both 2008 and 2009. It is a wonderful place.

The daily tariff includes everything - lodging, transportation, food, etc. About the only thing that is not covered is the cost of transportation into and out of the country and the visa fee.

As for the itinerary, you can pretty much choose your own (at least the tour company I traveled with let me do that). They will work with you to show you the best of Bhutan. The company I used was Rainbow Tours located in Thimpu. I have traveled with them both times and would highly recommend them. If you contact them, say hi to Kama and Sonam from David in Texas. Sonam is the owner.

The current daily tariff for a single traveler in high season is $240, which includes the single supplement. In low season, the single traveler tariff is $205, including the single supplement. The daily tariff for two travelers is less, and for more than two, even less.

Hope that helps. Feel free to drop me a note if you have more questions.

David
