I made creme brulee on Sunday, but I had to melt the sugar using the oven broiler, which re-heated the entire brulee again. I had gone to HomePro to buy a torch, but they only had cutting torches, no soldering torches. Anyone know where I can get one?

I am going to try a low-fat brulee this coming weekend, and they are more temperamental, so I would like not to have to put them back in the oven to melt the sugar.

Just go around the corner to your nearest Petrol Station Bonobo and ask the guys to get out their torch.

Yes, I guess I should have thought of them. I guess I get stuck on US thinking where I can get one at any WalMart or Home Depot, so of course I went to HomePro.

Maybe a bunsen burner would do the trick. If suitable they can be found at any medical instrument retailer.
