Returning

Featured Replies

I am a US citizen living in Panama with my Thai wife. We need to return to Thailand to take care of her children, as her ex-husband died. I used to have a Thai retiree visa, but it has expired. 1. Can I get a 90 visa from the Thai consulate here in Panama before we return? 2. Then what, to get a new retiree visa? 3. I qualify financially. 4. I have lived in Panama for several years. Can the police report be from here or does it have to be from the US? Or do I even need one?

Arrive with a Non Imm O Visa if you can get one and extend at Thai Immigration for 12 months. It can be done with a Tourist Visa if you cannot but involves a bit more work.

Police Reports are not needed.

1. Only they can answer that but I would expect you can obtain a single entry non immigrant O visa which should be all you require. Even a tourist visa could work but with extra steps/fees

2. You do not need or want a retirement visa - you want to extend your stay once here for retirement (or Thai wife at lower financial requirements if needed).

3. If you have 800k in account in Thailand two months or 65k income or combination to meet 800k per year it will be very easy process.

4. Police report is not required for extension of stay.
