i am asking this question for my friend who is not a member of the forum. he has been with a thai girl now for 2 -3 years, when she came to the uk first time she was sponsored by her cousin who was here and working, anyway, thats when she met my friend, they spent 5-6 months together and then she went back to thailand to university. ( she is educated and she is now in a good office job in bangkok) since she went back to los he has went over to see her and stayed with her in isaan and bangkok while she was working, she / they have pictures ( no dates on photos ) they have telephone records, they have work records and are both employed, my friend earns enough but is not highly paid, i dont think she is a high earner as she has just finished university and just settling into her new work in bangkok..

the big question is what is the best and easiest visa for him to get ? e.e.a family permit ? he can get an irish passport , he also holds a british passport ( dual citizenship ) he lives in belfast uk. the E.E.A.is free and is nearly allways guaranteed as long as they both can show evidence of relationship , funds, employment etc ., also the EEA permit takes priority over other vis,a when submitted to the uk embassy and its only a weeks waiting time on a decision ? am i right ?

settlement visa ? marriage visa ? he will go to bangkok in 2nd march to marry her. i will be meeting him there and helping him in the best way i can. i myself got an E.E.A family permit for my wife 3 years ago , i forget allready what i had to do wether i submitted my irish passport or uk passport to the uk embassy after i married in bangkok so i cannot advise him too much. blink.gif

he wants a no hassle visa and is prepared to pay a visa office but i have told him to go the E.E.A route same as i did . though with E.E.A my wife has to wait 5 years untill she can apply for uk passport and settlement.

what is your advice to him ? thanks in advance wink.gif
