Recommended Posts

I experience a more and more bad Performance of my AMD Sempron 2,1 Ghz

Wondows 7 Starter on a HP Notebook

So I downloaded the AMD "Code Analyst" to check the Performance and what Prosecceses are running making it slow

here is the Link to this AMD Developer Site, with an introducing Video

http://developer.amd...ceAnalyzer.aspx

Result:

30% are "unknown module pid"

so I went to "google" to ask a Solution - not one found, beside

http://forums.amd.co...threadid=139819

Has anyone enough Knowledge to help me out?

Thanks in Advance

Thank you very much for your Answer

Threadfire is constantly scanning my PC for Malware and other Threats by starting my PC - and AVG Free in on

could it be, that I am running AVG Free and Threatfire at the same Time - and that is the Cause of the CPU Usage?

I remember, there was a Thread about 2 Antivirus Programms causing Problems to a System.....

I use Zonealarm antivirus and it does hog cpu time when scanning. :bah:

I suggest you disconnect from the Internet for safety

and then turn off the antivirus to see if it is what is using the cpu.

Housecall is is useful stand alone programme to check a computer if infection is suspected.

http://www.malwarebytes.org/

This is another useful tool for a periodic scan.

Non of the above is going to sort you out if you have malware buried deep in your machine although all are good starts.

Given you don't know how to sort it out - back all your files up on a usb and reimage the drive.

Be careful about downloading FF extensions (better to go to Chrome) and stick to tried true popular software (shareware dl from Internet, not bought @ Panthip).

Sounds like malware not virus but who knows. ESET is great but why pay for software?

I like Avast and Malwarebytes + Chrome. All free.

I dont like AVG at all - I have seen this overcome in many, many Internet cafes.
