Tot High Speed Wireless Internet

Featured Replies

We have just signed up with TOT for a landline and their high speed wireless internet service, they set up the wireless router which is called D-Link and configured our net book which runs Windows XP Home edition and that works fine, however they then tried to configure our laptop which is running Windows Vista Home Premium, they got it working but a couple of hours after they left it would not show any internet pages even though it says it is connected, the pages comes up with internet explorer can not display this page! However when we plug in the yellow lead they left us to the back of the D-Link router and into the laptop it works fine!

My wife spent ages on the phone this morning to various TOT departments and finally got it running wirelessly, but when ever we turn the laptop off and use it later it won't work again without the yellow cable being attatched... as you can probably gather neither of us is very proficient in computers so we are hoping the more experienced people here may be able to offer a solution.

Thanks very much and hope someone can help!

Simply request TOT to come back on site! They will do this for no charge.

It WOULD be helpful if your wife had written down the changes she made that led up to things working... sounds like perhaps something in the router or laptop was changed... and perhaps not saved, so next time she booted up it didn't work, again.

You might also try hibernating the laptop (once you figure out how to enable that... it's just hitting the power button to save all settings and configurations to hard disk; next power-up everything is as before; same windows open, etc.) That way, the computer isn't really rebooted, next time you need to use it, it's just reloaded.

No matter what, request TOT to come back; let THEM converse with the other tech people, in Thai, and put this baby to bed. You don't need the stress, in LOS.

Good luck!!
